October has been a busy month for the folks at Sentinel Resources Corp (CSE: SNL, OTC: SNLRF).
Make no mistake, Sentinel Resources has Big aspirations and an A-list portfolio of gold and silver assets to back them up. Combined with a high profile, world renowned technical team to guide and manage exploration and development of these assets, Sentinel Resources becomes a junior explorer worthy of serious investment consideration.
Over the past few weeks the company has announced two massive acquisitions, via staking, in Australia: eight gold concessions (945 sq. km) and seven silver concessions (386 sq. km) situated atop one of New South Wales most prolific and productive mineralized regions.
This territory has produced over 40 million ounces of gold, and it’s estimated that over 68 million ounces are still in the ground awaiting discovery.
NEW SOUTH WALES HISTORIC GOLD RUSH COMES FULL CIRCLE
New South Wales is home to one of the biggest gold rushes in history. Starting in 1851 hundreds of thousands of “diggers” from other parts of Australia, Great Britain, Poland, Germany, and even California sought their fortunes and redefined Australia’s national identity.
In fact, the world’s largest piece of gold-bearing material was discovered in NSW – a specimen of slate and gold weighing 235 kilograms, containing 85 kg (2,720 troy oz), known as Holtermann’s Nugget.
This historic rush forged NSW’s global reputation as a precious metals power player.
Due to rudimentary mining methods of 120 years ago, much of this region remains significantly under-explored and under-developed, presenting a once-in-a-generation opportunity for investors looking to capitalize on a resurgence of activity in the area.
Sentinel’s swift and aggressive foray into NSW has landed the company a suite of 15 beautifully situated concessions, each of which hold potential for big, bonanza-grade discoveries. Put together under one roof, the company’s gold and silver portfolio could very well become the envy of the mining world.
Fosterville South Exploration (TSX Venture: FSX, OTC: FSXLF), exploring for gold in Victoria, Australia turned heads when it commenced trading in April 2020 with a valuation of ~$45 million. As the world turned its attention to the rich goldfields of Australia, shares in Fosterville rallied from $1 to hit a high of $5.25 by the end of June, commanding a market capitalization of nearly $250 million.
At the time of this writing Sentinel is trading at 0.80/share CAD with a market capitalization of approximately $20 million, and the Company is quickly moving to kick off exploration efforts on the most enticing concessions.
Sentinel Resources (CSE:SNL, OTC:SNLRF) gold projects (945 sq. km), strategically located within the prolifically mineralized Lachlan and New England orogenic terranes, are home to nearly 200 historic mines and exploration prospects.
The Company’s silver prospects (386 sq. km) feature at least 23 historic silver mines, with historic records indicating generally high-grade silver recoveries, exceeding 1kg/tonne Ag in some instances.
Sentinel has released the following initial review of several gold and silver concessions within their portfolio.
Highlights include:
Gold properties:
- Alliance Reef: Includes Marquis of Lorne gold deposit with historic resource estimate (not-compliant) of 51,000 ounces of gold.
- Toolom South: Over 60 historic gold mines — some with reported multi-ounce grades.
- Gold Bar: A 198 km2 licence with at least 50 historic gold mines and showings, most likely of a low- sulphidation type.
- Stanleys: A 90 km2 licence located within a prolific gold camp comprising deposits such as Commonwealth, Copper Hill (1 Moz Au), Hill End (0.7 Moz Au), Cadia (43 Moz Au) and McPillamys (2 Moz Au). Readers should note that mineralization contained on these projects is not necessarily indicative of mineralization contained at Stanleys.
Silver Properties:
- Wallah Wallah: A 99 km2 licence hosting 6 historic silver mines and showings with reported rock-chip grades of over 1,000 g/t Ag.
- Stoney Creek: An 81 km2 licence hosting 7 high-grade, historic silver and gold mines and showings. Mineralization is likely of a low-sulphidation epithermal type — characterized by vein-hosted high-grade shoots.
- Carrington: Carrington contains a number of historic mines and workings within gold-silver mineralized gossanous lodes. Gossans form when sulphide mineralization is exposed to surface and “rusts” to an iron oxide residue. Gossans are important vectors to underlying sulphide mineralization.
- Additional Silver Properties: See Press Release dated October 28th.
